7. Cast in place application for use with unit pavers
1. For use in new concrete

This is the standard installation for new concrete at finish grade.

2. Use with existing saw-cut concrete or curb

Standard bolt in detail for saw-cut concrete or existing curb. Works with slabs 4" thick or greater. Often used in conjunction with other details on the same frame when working against an existing curb.

3. Use when existing hole is sized to grate.

This rarely used detail permits installing a tree grate in an existing hole where the hole opening is the size of the desired grate.

4. Use when bolting frames to existing concrete when mortar-set pavers or tiles are used.

Use this detail where DETAIL #2 does not provide adequate depth for anchor location. If using unit pavers on a sand setting bed DETAIL#6 or DETAIL #7 should be selected.

5. For use in new concrete where space outside frame is tight

This detail can be used with pavers as shown although it is a more difficult form up in the field than details #6 or #7. This detail is best used for situations where the frame must butt against an existing structure.

6. Bolt down application for use with unit pavers

This is our most popular solution for setting a tree grate into a field of unit pavers particularly when using a sand bed. Standard height is 3 1/4" for use with 60mm paver on a typical sand bed; however, other heights may be specified

7. Cast in place application for use with unit pavers

This detail is a cast in place option for frames used with unit pavers on a sand or mortar bed. Also a very popular option, As with DETAIL #6 standard height is 3 1/4" but may be specified.
